Combat mechanics could've been better but the story was pretty solid. I suggest you buy this game only on a cheap sale.. This is a good action RPG with a solid storyline and decent level of customization.. Avencast is pretty atypical among the action-adventure clones of Diablo but still has pretty straight-forward arcade style gameplay. The choices here are much more flexible and tactical but the casting system and the magic itself lacks the pristine polish and substance found in Magicka or Nox and there is no lightning magic (an odd developmental choice, in my opinion).You can either choose to cast spells via an arcade style input (left, right, click... etc.) or by hotkey. I prefer arcade input myself. The story is cliche as hell but the setting is pulled off decently and worth a two-finger round of applause.Now, the SDK provides a good deal of potential and has a very detailed and easy-to-use readme. I put together a somewhat large mod myself, overhauling the Soul Magic tree and even added more spells. Overall, Avencast is certainly worth the asking price if you are a magic-user enthusiast like me and definitely worth it when on-sale.. The game is fine, I guess! But the camera is just ...! Please do something whit it update or something! Trading Cards and Achievements will be awsome too!. One of the best RPG games that exists!!. Its worth at least playing it once for the Harry Potter Feels. The game starts slow, but as you gain your first spell combo's the story picks up and your launched into a desperate attempt to rescue Avencast, the mage academy. Preety casual RPG, should last you a good 16 hours of storymode until completion. Got stuck on some of the puzzles, but its not unbeatable. If you like Gauntlet type games with a hint of diablo, then this one does a fair job at it. I would of down-voted it, and the only reason being was that the sfx kept cutting out and the movie clips were mute for me. It might of been my sound-card though, or running it in 5.1 dts optical. I was able to max out this game a 2k at 144hz, played like butter. It is sort of a gem among rpg's. Give it a try, 3.8 out of 5.. i don't want to waste any time for this "game". should be enough sayin it's a more of the same (H&S talkin) but: - 3 Different view perspective.
